We already experienced 2 successive power disruptions at the office today. The announcement was only given 30 minutes prior to the incident. Our machines do not have any UPS so having these power disruptions would mean losing any unsaved data and restarting our computers. Last Monday evening we experienced 3 power disruptions as well. These come unexpected and beyond the announced schedule, thus can be very cumbersome. Which made me think that our country should tap more on solar energy as an alternative source of energy, since hydroelectric power becomes scarce when we have droughts. Ours is a tropical country and with the onset of El Niño, we expect a lot of sunny weather. I am not sure how much the government has invested on solar energy projects, may be I need to check on that. Meantime, conserving electricity would serve as a good way to tide the enegy crisis.
